1.Acceptance of the terms

1.1These terms govern access to and use of UrlShortener, including the website, the account dashboard and the API.

1.2By creating a short link, registering an account or using the API, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms in full.

1.3If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind it to these terms.

2.The service

2.1UrlShortener lets you create short links that redirect to a destination URL and, depending on the plan, review the activity of those links.

2.2An anonymous link, created without an account, expires 24 hours after it is created, unless an account claims it before then.

2.3We may modify, add or remove features of the service. When a change substantially reduces a benefit of a paid plan, we will give reasonable advance notice.

3.Your account

3.1To create an account you must be at least 16 years old and provide a valid email address, which we verify during registration.

3.2Each email address corresponds to a single account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity in your account.

3.3You must notify us without delay if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3.4You can close your account at any time from the dashboard.

4.Acceptable use

4.1You may not use the service to link to content that impersonates others, distributes malicious software, promotes fraud or violates applicable law.

4.2You may not use short links to send unsolicited bulk communications or to hide the destination of a link in order to deceive whoever opens it.

4.3You may not circumvent your plan quotas, automate link creation outside the API, or interfere with the operation of the service.

4.4We check every destination URL against lists of known threats and may refuse to create a short link without stating the exact reason.

6.Plans and payments

6.1The Free Plan has no cost. The Pro and Developer plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, in US dollars.

6.2The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel before the renewal date.

6.3When you cancel, you keep the plan benefits until the end of the period already paid. No refunds are issued for partial periods.

6.4When you use up your plan quota you cannot create new short links until the next reset, but existing links keep redirecting.

6.5We may change prices with at least 30 days notice; the new price applies from the next renewal.

7.Use of the API

7.1API access is included in the Developer Plan and subject to the rate limit published in the documentation.

7.2API keys are personal. You must not share them or include them in publicly accessible code.

7.3We may revoke a key that is used abusively or that has been exposed.

8.Suspension and termination

8.1We may disable a short link, suspend an account or close it if it breaches these terms or puts other people or the service at risk.

8.2Where possible, we will notify you by email and give you the chance to fix the breach before closing the account.

8.3When an account is closed, its short links stop redirecting and its data is deleted within the periods set in the privacy policy.

9.Warranties and limitation of liability

9.1The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the extent permitted by law.

9.2We do not guarantee that the service will be available without interruption or that redirects will resolve within a given time.

9.3To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

10.Changes, governing law and contact

10.1We may update these terms. If the change is substantial, we will email registered accounts at least 15 days before it takes effect.

10.2Continuing to use the service after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

10.3These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Colombia. Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Colombia.

10.4For any question about these terms you can write to us from the contact screen.
